Jeannie is also a journalist in addition to being an amazing singer, songwriter, as well as actress. Jeannie Ortega is a New York native who signed her first major record deal with Disney subsidiary Hollywood Records at the age of 16.
Jeannie Ortega spent several years on the pop radio circuit. Her first single, “Crowded,” co-written with Stargate and featuring rapper Papoose (Love & Hip Hop), yielded a Top 25 single on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and was certified gold on radio airplay, being heard by over 250 million people. Her debut album, No Place Like Brooklyn (2006), debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart. Ortega spent the summer of 2006 as the opening act for pop star Rihanna on her nationwide tour.
Jeannie entered the studio last year with prominent Christian music producer Aaron Rice (TobyMac, Mandisa), and is gearing up to release her first full-length Christian studio album, Love Changed Me. The lead single, “Never Been Hurt,” premiered in April 2016, to much acclaim from her fans. Love Changed Me is now available on iTunes and Google Play.
